 One to One Coaching

Swimming is an incredibly technical sport and not one that has many short cuts or one that can be rushed.  In order to develop the correct skills in the water, having consistent feedback over an extended period of time is invaluable. The direct feedback from a dedicated coach means all errors and weaknesses can be quickly identified and addressed through specific practices and drills.

One to one coaching is different to joining a swim group or club where their focus will mostly be on fitness. One to one coaching rather than having the approach of swimming more to swim faster, the emphasis is to make your stroke as strong and as efficient as possible and improve your specific open water skills. As your technique in the water improves, so will your speed.

Along with improving your technique you will learn the necessary skills to swim in open water confidently and safely.

 Lake Coaching

  • Introduction to Open Water- a 75 minute one to one session which includes 30 min of dry land theory followed by coached session in the lake.  Ideal if you’ve never swam in open water before.

 

  • One to One Coached Sessions–  One hour session’s aimed at improving open water skills, fitness and stroke mechanics. Session is personalised to help you achieve your goals.

 

  • Block Booking–  Receive a discounted rate on the one to one sessions when 5 or more sessions booked together.

Open Water Skills

As part of our coaching program we will introduce and practice the following open water skills. These will be covered over a series of lessons, depending on experience and ability.

  • Introduction to swimming in open water
  • Acclimatising to cold water
  • Entry and exit
  • Breathing and timing
  • Swimming straight and sighting
  • Drafting
  • Turning
  • Mass starts and finishes
